                                            Equine Sports Massage

After retiring from the Greeley Police department, Linda now had the time to pursue several other interests, one being equine sports massage.  First Linda wanted to learn equine massage so she could maximize her and Terri’s horse’s performance plus keeping them feeling fit.  After the word got out that Linda was doing equine massage, several people asked her to start a therapeutic massage routine for their horses.

Linda learned equine massage from Jackie Narin, ( www.horsesandhands.com) who has her own practice plus teaches equine massage clinics. After Linda learned the basics, she shadowed Jackie in her practice where she gained hands on experience with numerous horses plus several different breeds.

All of the different disciplines in the horse world are getting so competitive creating a greater need  to give our equine athletes every advantage.  Equine sport massage can help maximize your horse’s performance by improving flexibility, increasing circulation, lengthening muscle fibers, and it can help reduce healing time for injuries.

We need to learn how to listen to the horse who communicates through behavior and performance.  This can be blatant or it can be as subtle as acting cinchy, refusing to pick up the correct lead, and/or not performing up to previous levels. Sometime we think it’s just bad behavior but in actuality the horse is trying to tell us that something is wrong.  A horse that is pain free is readily able to deliver maximum performance in the arena or on the trail.

After Linda massages your horse she will provide you with specific feedback on her findings and recommendations for your continued enjoyment of your horse.

If you would like to set up a therapeutic equine massage routine, you can contact Linda at 970-669-8769 or StarAmazingGrace@aol.com
